Named after the Spanish word for summer because of the exceptionally bright images attained, 2007 model Verano BGA PC Oasis binoculars fit neatly between the Imagic BGA SE and Countryman BGA T PC in terms of performance and specification. A simple and neat design, the Verano is the lightest of the Opticron BGA models, the 8x32 weighing in at just 561g.
All five models continue with BAK 4 prisms but now benefit from the successful combination of Oasis + PC phase correction coatings that improve final image definition over preceding models. The optical system is fully multicoated [all air/glass surfaces] and specially 'balanced-out' to deliver good all round colour saturation across a wide range of light conditions. In addition, the complex multi-element eyepiece designs ensure comfortable long eyerelief vision for spectacle wearers with minimal edge distortion.
Mechanically the models feature:
• Internal focusing with close focus to under 2 metres on 8x32, 8x42 and 10x42
• Nitrogen waterproof construction to a depth of 3 metres
• Durable rubber covering with new style rubber eyecups and right side dioptre cover
• Opticron house style wide wheel focusing
• Smooth action aluminium twist type eyecup assemblies
